Why do we not offer foreign dentures?
You are probably asking yourself why we do not offer “cheap dentures” from abroad, although they are so widely promoted in the media, in advertisements and also by the health insurers.
The switch to the fixed benefit system for dentures led to a decrease in turnover of more than 30% among both dentists and dental technicians. Because of economic and political uncertainty many patients refrain from getting dentures. “Dentures have become much too expensive, I can afford them at the moment,” is the general tone, with the result that 20% of patients demand a cheaper provision.
We can also offer you a cheaper alternative; ask your dentist.
This is exploited by dental goods companies, who advertise with offers at bargain prices and European quality standards. At first glance this might look like an attractive alternative to many, but service provision, which we consider to be self-evident, often suffers, such as individual appointments, fittings or individual selection of tooth colour with your dental technician. With us you do not need to wait 1 week for repairs, but rather only a few hours. German quality is recognised as the best in the world, and we think you deserve that!
Jurisdiction/liability is a further point. If you have your dentures manufactured abroad and there are subsequently grounds for a prosecution, the jurisdiction will be in the country of manufacture (Poland, the Czech Republic, China, Indonesia...) instead of in Germany. Because you procure your dentures via a dental goods company, with constantly changing managing directors, e.g. Globodent, to name just one, you will have to decide whether you wish to trust a trading company or a German dental laboratory with 25 years of experience.
